Summer Spirit of Giving hosted by Mompact

During a time when many women are tearing each other down Mompact is building other women up, other mompreneurs to be exact. They encourage all moms to support mom businesses by buying from them, sharing about them or even just following them on social media. Their newest way to support mom businesses is the Summer Spirit of Giving event. Kindness is readily available during the Holidays so why does it seem to be lacking the rest of the year.

Saline ambassadors, like myself, are given a kit each quarter that includes many samples and new products to share with local moms. During this event we get to take the sharing a little farther by participating in the social media sharing of many products that were invented by moms. Boogie Wipes were even invented by moms to ease the struggle of cleaning dirty faces. But Mompact isn't stopping there! They are also encouraging everyone to get involved with helping in their own communities. Some ideas are handing out bottled water on a hot day, visiting a nursing home, making up baby goodie bags for new moms in a mom's group, welcome new teachers to school with a gift basket, or even something as simple as handing out hope and encouragement cards to people you meet during a random day. All these are things you can get your kids involved in as well. Kids learn from the examples we provide for them.

If you want to get involved with the Summer Spirit of Giving check out the Virtual Giving Tree. Then go enter the giveaway filled with Mom invented products. There are also lots of deals and specials from all the generous companies involved.
Be sure you join in the fun during the Twitter Party on Thursday August 13th from 3-4pm (Central). Click here to see the prizes and register.

New Adventure with baby Number 3

By the time the third baby comes along  you have learned a lot and seen too much. One thing that I never thought would be happening when I had my third was that I would be changing my thinking of cloth diapering but you live and learn then get cloth. I only used disposable with my first two boys. I thought that was the best option and easiest but number three has made me rethink what I knew (With the help of one of my mom friends) She had told me about cloth when my second was still in diapers but all I could picture was the old style and stinky diapers in a pail.
My thoughts all changed because of local mom and a consignment sale. I was helping the sale owner and tagging items. She had two of the cutest diapers ever. I bought them to try.

The timing was too perfect, we were almost out of my stock pile of his size disposables. After trying those two and seeing all the other adorable options I am hooked.

The diapers available now are not the same kinds your mom used. Cloth diapers now come in so many styles and patterns, the possibilities seem endless. Washing is not the horror story of the past either. I like simple so I just  spray my diapers after they are used and put them in with our other clothes. Then they get washed and dried right along with everything else.
I am lucky to have a local mom who I can ask questions but there are many Facebook groups for chatting about diapers as well as buying them.
I never thought that I would be trying something like cloth with my third baby but I'm really glad I finally gave it a try. Only regret now is that I didn't start this with number 1.

Spin Kindness Project

Spin Kindness is an amazing new idea in social sharing. Spin Kindness partners companies that care with people who want to share. The mission is to inspire acts of kindness and connect people in person and online. Spin Kindness agents, like myself, have the amazing opportunity to spread kindness in our daily lives. This quarter we received a kit of Boogie Wipes, Kandoo and Dreft products.

With each act of kindness comes a tracking card.

\

With these cards agents can track how their acts of kindness spread. The hope is that by simply showing someone you care, they will in turn pay it forward. These cards are tracked by each groups own page.
Check out http://www.spinkindness.com/bwteam18/ to see what my team and I are doing.

I do receive a kindness kit free each quarter but all opinions of the product and company are my own.

Puffs Fresh Faces(coupon offer expired)

Cold and Flu season is here! I know I'm not happy about it either but it's unavoidable, someone will have a runny nose. For my family it's usually the boys which I found the best product ever for them (Boogie Wipes) BUT what about for mom and dad?
I suppose I could just use a tissue but frankly I don't like looking like Rudolph. To avoid the red, sore nose I use Puffs Fresh Faces! Made with saline they don't irritate your nostrils while keeping them clean. Puffs fresh faces have the added bonus of great scents(along with an unscented option); Vicks, Lavender, and Fresh scents.
I was lucky enough to be able to try out the whole Fresh face line when they were first introduced by Puffs. My favorite scent is the Vicks. I am pregnant and very sensitive to scents. The Vicks are perfect if you are a little stopped up and a facuet. Yes my husband thinks I'm crazy when I start sniffing my Vicks fresh faces but hey it's a safe way to get relief! *Note the Vicks are intended  for noses only!
Nights that I'm too tired to actually go through the process of removing my make up I grab a Fresh or unscented wipe to get it all off. They even get mascara off!
Now my husband doesn't need the Fresh Faces for make up removal but he has used them to clean up after sweating and to keep his nose clean. His favorites are the fresh scented and the unscented.
I'm really happy I found the Puffs Fresh Faces before cold and flu season set in. No more suffering for us!
Want to try Fresh Faces yourself? Go here: http://www.puffsfreshfaces.com/coupon-club/ to sign up for a $2 off coupon.

* I recieved the above pictured kit to test out the Puffs Fresh Faces line of products. However all opinions are my own.

Hello! Just a little intro

Hi! My name is Kelly. I'm married with three boys. D is 10ms. A is almost 4 and J is almost 3. I'm a stay at home mom. My kids aren't the only ones I look after every day. My household size is rather large; consisting of my husband, kids, my brother, my parents, and I. It does take a village to raise a child and I'm lucky enough to have an entire one under one roof. On this blog I want to be able to share all the ways I have learned to save and earn money for my family all while staying home with my kids. My hope for the future is to be able to have lots of fun contests and games too!
